We’re on a roll!

The MAD-ness of fall continues! Monadnock Roller Derby is celebrating our most successful season ever, and using our momentum to bring some great activities ahead:

Image may contain: 1 person, textThe Mad Knockers take on Twin State Derby in our final bout of 2017 this Saturday, September 23. Event details here. 7 PM at the Union Arena in Woodstock, VT.

Cheer on our Mad Misfits in a black-and-white scrimmage featuring junior players throughout New England on Saturday, September 30. First whistle at 3:00 PM, at the rink at Brattleboro’s Living Memorial Park. Stay for the Elm City Derby Damez’ game against Worcester, with some of the Mad Knockers guest skating! Same rink, 6:00 PM whistle.

Community Roller Skating Nights are back! If you’re looking for local fun, this is one of the best deals around. Professional music and lights, hot & cold concessions, competitive games, and free skating instruction from real MRD skaters… 21753385_1703232879709529_7508034335300683531_o.jpgCome join us in the community for a great, active, entertaining night on skates. Next date: Saturday, October 7 from 6-9 PM at Antrim Town Gym.

Wednesday Night Black & White Scrimmages begin Wednesday, October 11. Twelve weeks of off-season recreational play at level 3 (i.e., skaters who’ve passed minimum skills level test). These events are geared toward B/C level skaters. (For reference only, RollerCon defines skill levels here.) Scrimmages will follow the 2017 WFTDA rule set.

Know someone who could use a good challenge? Our league is all about lifting ourselves and one another up in a safe, friendly, inclusive environment. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. All levels of ability are welcome. We have gear to borrow and plenty of seasoned skaters ready to teach you everything you need to get started with roller derby. Whether for fitness, competition, or a healthy personal routine, we’ll take you through the necessary skills and offer our experience and encouragement. Email to RSVP.

Pass the Biscuits! Thanksgiving Scrimmage & Potluck

Saturday, November 18 at 2 PM – Great Brook School (directions above)

Monadnock opened the 2017 season with the “I Hate Valentine’s Day” scrimmage. Now let’s cap it with “Pass the Biscuits” for Thanksgiving! This is an open black and white scrimmage. All scrimmage-eligible players, refs and non-skating officials (including those in training) are welcome.
